A cement manufacturing company is looking for an Environment Officer to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the environmental protection and enhancement programs of the plant, ensuring that internal environmental standards, directives, and government regulatory requirements are consistently complied with.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate environmental protection and enhancement programs to ensure consistent compliance with company standards and government regulations.
  • Manage environmental programs focused on controlling the impact of the manufacturing process from crushing through to shipping.
  • Generate required environmental reports and provide high-quality environmental data to support management decisions.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with regulators, local government units, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations to sustain the plant's license to operate.
  • Coordinate with concerned departments to ensure all pollution control devices and ancillary equipment, including the Continuous Emission Monitoring System, operate effectively and efficiently.
  • Act as the plant Waste Manager by preparing, planning, and implementing safe waste disposal strategies while managing budgets in compliance with internal and legal environmental laws.
  • Serve as the super-user for the Continuous Emission Monitoring System to handle emissions monitoring and data analysis.
  • Oversee plant-wide greening, reforestation, and rehabilitation initiatives, including maintaining landscaped areas and monitoring adopted watersheds or mangroves.
  • Administer plant environmental performance and innovations, providing accurate analysis and timely submission of reports to the Plant Manager and safety leadership.
  • Track budget consumption against actual costs to ensure proper cost control and reduction for environmental programs.
  • Update the legal register of the plant annually or as needed to maintain regulatory alignment.
  • Provide technical expertise as the plant Pollution Control Officer, contributing environmental recommendations prior to and during project execution.
  • Conduct environmental hazards training and awareness programs for managers, supervisors, associates, and external stakeholders.
  • Observe all corporate health, safety, and information security rules to safeguard organizational assets and personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Must be a Licensed Engineer with a valid PRC license.
  • Certified as a Pollution Control Officer III.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a cement plant or related heavy manufacturing industry.
  • Strong functional knowledge of manufacturing processes, emissions monitoring systems, and pollution control devices.
  • Proven experience handling regulatory reports such as Self-Monitoring Reports and environmental compliance profiles.
  • Familiarity with basic operations in MAC, SAP, or similar enterprise resource management systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for data analysis and presentations.
