A leading insurance firm is seeking a Finance Automation Specialist to join its Strategic Finance Initiatives and Accounting Advisory (SFIAA) team. This role serves as a key driver of process improvements, control structures, and technical accounting guidance across the organization. The position is responsible for evaluating financial reporting standards, developing policy frameworks, executing finance automation solutions, and collaborating cross-functionally to support strategic system implementations.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify process inefficiencies across finance workflows and design automated solutions, standardized templates, and streamlined operating tools.
  • Develop, update, and maintain robust finance policies, operating guidelines, and internal control structures to ensure regulatory and corporate alignment.
  • Provide technical accounting advisory and guidance on complex issues, authoring accounting position memos and policy documentation.
  • Lead financial impact assessments and implementation plans for new accounting and sustainability standards, including system enhancements and updates.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Actuarial, Risk, Operations, and IT teams to align financial processes with broader business objectives.
  • Review financial statements and disclosures to ensure full compliance with accounting standards and regulatory reporting guidelines.
  • Perform financial viability assessments for third-party vendors and conduct contract reviews within established service level agreements.
  • Serve as a technical finance subject matter expert and project lead for system implementations, automation initiatives, and external audit discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy; must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement experience.
  • Experience or exposure to IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 implementations within the insurance sector is strongly preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with corporate finance operations, business workflows, and actuarial software systems.
  • Proven capability in identifying workflow inefficiencies, developing process automation solutions, and managing multiple technical deliverables.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills within a fast-paced environment.

Work Setup: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
