Mechanical Safety Engineer (Mining Industry)
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Inspection & Maintenance: Supervise the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment (e.g., dump trucks, conveyors, crushers) and ensure strict adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, MSHA) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Hazard Identification & Investigation: Identify potential mechanical hazards, analyze equipment malfunctions, and conduct investigations into accidents or incidents to prevent recurrence.
- System Optimization: Design, implement, or modify mechanical systems (including ventilation and machinery) for improved efficiency and safety.
- Reporting & Training: Prepare technical reports on equipment status, safety performance, and train personnel on equipment safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in mining, quarrying, or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial safety standards, maintenance software, and troubleshooting methods.
- Certification: Safety-related certifications (e.g., BOSH/COSH, OSHA training)
Work Setup:
Shift: Day shift
Setup: Onsite (5-day/week)
