One of the Big Four global professional services firms is seeking a strategic and highly analytical Financial Risk Management - Assistant Manager to join their Advisory team. This role is designed for a professional who can identify and scrutinize threats to financial assets while developing robust strategies to counteract market fluctuations. The ideal candidate brings an extensive background in quantitative analysis and statistical modeling, coupled with a deep understanding of banking and financial regulations, to lead high-impact engagements for banks, insurance companies, and asset management firms.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyze, and scrutinize all possible financial risks that may impact the organization's or client's financial success.
  • Detect potential threats to assets and provide actionable solutions to mitigate complex business risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to counteract the effects of fluctuating markets on business finances using risk profile reports.
  • Utilize various valuation techniques, statistical models, and quantitative analysis to assess risk exposure and capital impact.
  • Lead financial risk engagements with minimal supervision, ensuring all deliverables align with Big Four quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of current banking and financial regulations to ensure client compliance.
  • Assist in business development initiatives, including the creation of technical proposals and strategic client presentations.
  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organizational discipline.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of professionals, providing mentorship and career development for assigned team members.
  • Communicate complex financial risk findings through excellent verbal and written reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics; an MBA or Master's degree in Finance is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years of extensive experience in assessing and managing financial risk within banks, insurance, or accounting firms.
  • Proven expertise in valuation techniques, statistical modeling, and quantitative analysis.
  • Logical thinker and problem solver with a strong independent work ethic and analytical prowess.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a team and manage multiple client engagements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Proven flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected challenges in a fast-paced environment.
