About the job Aircraft Cabin Cleaner
Position Summary:
The Cabin Cleaner is responsible for servicing the needs of the individual airline and the associated requirements of their aircraft in accordance with the airline and the company’s policies and procedures for all aspects of a successful ground handling operation. Cabin Cleaners are also responsible for the comprehensive cleaning of aircraft interiors while providing customers and passengers with prompt, friendly, and courteous service.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize aircraft interiors; duties include the following; cleaning of lavatory sinks, countertops, mirrors, toilets, and surrounding areas; table changes, walls, ceilings, doors, floors, aircraft seats, and tray tables, first-class center console, beverage trays, seat pockets and armrests; drains, spigots, exterior cabinet surfaces, and galley trash cans and/or trash compartments, overhead bins, windows, air vents, passenger service units, walls, kick plates, and closets
- Clean aircraft flight deck windows, glare shields, flight display monitors, flight deck inside surfaces (mirror, oxygen gear, and nose gear sites), sliding table/cup holders and floors, forward control panel, console panel, control pedestal and forward/aft fuse panels dusted and vacuumed; removal and disposal of trash from flight deck
- Ensure correct aircraft seat covers are in place and attached properly; seat belts must be uniformly crossed
- Ensure the correct safety evacuation card and seat pocket contents are in place and in good condition
- Ensure pillows and blankets are cleaned, properly folded, and returned to specified storage locations
- Responsible for cleaning bio-hazards in accordance with training requirements
- Vacuum floors including under the seats and seat cushions
- Removal of “Foreign Object Debris” (FOD) from ramp surfaces adjacent to or surrounding the ramp area
- Removal and disposal of trash from galley trash cans, trash compartments, and cabin trash compartments
- Ensure aircraft has been through its security search
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications
Competencies:
- Strong working knowledge of airline operations
- Work schedule understanding
- Operational flow knowledge (hourly/daily activity)
- Ability to develop effective relationships at all levels
- Ability to communicate in English
Required Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-2 years of related experience cleaning houses, offices, and/or buildings
Additional Requirements:
- Possess a valid US driver’s license
- Must pass a drug screen and a 10-year FAA background check (employment/criminal)
- A reliable method of transportation to arrive at the work location on-time
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and seek assistance from fellow team members as necessary
- Must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and effective approach to high-stress situations
- Must be able to interact directly with customers, airline personnel, and fellow team members to resolve problems and issues that may arise during the shift
- Learn the various types of aircraft in the airline’s fleet and their individual cleaning requirements

- Able to walk, sit and stand for an extended period of time
- Able to reach and clean overhead items
- Safely ascend and descent stairs with and without carrying any weight
- Able to safely lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Bending, stooping, reaching overhead, extended repetitively
- Walk-up/down jet bridge stairs at various angles
- Able to push and pull occasionally
