Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented and proactive Legal & Administration Officer to provide legal, corporate and administrative support to the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the organisation on day-to-day legal and corporate matters while also ensuring that key administrative functions, documentation, meetings, proposals and internal processes are effectively coordinated and maintained.

This role requires an individual with a strong legal background and a practical understanding of the Tanzanian corporate and regulatory environment, combined with excellent administrative and organisational capabilities.

The ideal candidate must be highly effective, meticulous and capable of working independently, managing multiple responsibilities and ensuring that important details, deadlines and follow-ups are not overlooked.

Key Responsibilities

Legal & Corporate Support

  • Provide day-to-day legal and corporate support to management and the organisation.
  • Conduct legal research and provide practical guidance on matters relating to the company’s operations.
  • Assist in reviewing, drafting and revising contracts, agreements, letters, policies, notices and other legal documents.
  • Support the organisation in understanding and complying with applicable Tanzanian corporate, commercial and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with corporate documentation, statutory filings, licenses, registrations and other regulatory requirements.
  • Review documents and identify legal, commercial, compliance or operational issues requiring management attention.
  • Liaise with external advocates, government authorities, regulators and other relevant institutions where required.
  • Maintain an organised and up-to-date record of contracts, legal documents, corporate records and correspondence.
  • Assist in monitoring contractual obligations, renewals, expiry dates and other important legal deadlines.
  • Support management in preparing responses to legal or regulatory matters.


Administration & Management Support

  • Coordinate and provide administrative support for management and internal meetings.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take accurate minutes and maintain action trackers to ensure agreed actions are followed through.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, reports, letters and other business documents.
  • Review documents for accuracy, consistency, completeness and presentation before submission or circulation.
  • Maintain proper filing and records management systems for both physical and electronic documents.
  • Coordinate correspondence and follow up on outstanding matters with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support management with research, preparation of briefing materials and compilation of information required for decision-making.
  • Assist in coordinating appointments, meetings and other administrative activities as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion when handling sensitive corporate and legal information.
  • Monitor deadlines, commitments and outstanding administrative matters and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Perform any other duties reasonably required to support the effective operation of the organisation.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a recognized institution.
  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in a legal, corporate, compliance, administrative or similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of the Tanzanian corporate and commercial legal environment.
  • Practical understanding of company administration, contracts, regulatory compliance and corporate documentation.
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing legal and business documents.
  • Previous experience in an organisation, professional services firm, corporate environment or similar setting will be an advantage.
  • Experience in the travel, tourism, aviation or related industry will be an added advantage.
