Job Summary

CNS Group is seeking a diligent and highly accurate Fuel Supervisor for a large scale sugarcane estate development project in Morogoro. The role is responsible for managing the receipt, safe storage, accurate measurement, dispensing, and accounting of all fuel used across estate machinery, vehicles, and equipment, with strict controls in place to minimise losses, pilferage, and wastage. The ideal candidate should possess strong numeracy skills, solid knowledge of fuel depot operations, and an unwavering commitment to accuracy, safety, and integrity in all fuel management activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the fuel depot and bowser operations, receiving all fuel deliveries and reconciling quantities received against delivery notes and purchase orders to ensure accurate stock accounting at all times.
  • Dispense fuel strictly against authorised requisitions only, ensuring no fuel is issued without proper documentation and approval from the relevant supervisor or manager.
  • Maintain a daily fuel dispensing register recording equipment codes, operator names, litres dispensed, and meter readings to ensure full traceability of all fuel movements across the estate.
  • Conduct daily stock reconciliation of all fuel holdings, reporting any discrepancies, shortages, or suspected pilferage to the Plant Manager or Land Development Manager promptly.
  • Monitor bulk storage tanks through regular dip stick measurements, ensuring accurate fuel level records are maintained and any leakages or contamination are identified and reported immediately.
  • Coordinate timely fuel orders to maintain adequate stock levels across all estate operations, ensuring machinery and vehicle downtime due to fuel shortages is eliminated.
  • Carry out weekly and monthly fuel consumption analysis including litres per hour and litres per hectare against output, providing management with accurate fuel efficiency reports.
  • Keep the fuel storage area fire-safe at all times, ensuring all fire extinguishers are serviceable, properly positioned, and that all fuel handling procedures comply with safety regulations.
  • Liaise with the Storekeeper for fuel consumables including filters, jerry cans, hoses, and nozzles to ensure adequate availability of all fuel related supplies across the estate.
  • Prepare accurate weekly and monthly fuel reports for the Plant Manager, ensuring all data is complete, verified, and submitted within required reporting timelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Form IV certificate with passes in Mathematics and Science is preferred.
  • Certificate in Stores Management, Petroleum Operations, or Logistics is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in fuel management, depot supervision, or fleet logistics is preferred.
  • Strong numeracy skills and accuracy in fuel measurement and stock keeping are recommended.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for fuel registers, stock records, and reporting is recommended.
  • Knowledge of tank calibration, dip measurement, and volumetric calculations is recommended.
  • Ability to detect fuel contamination, water ingress, or leakage with a high level of integrity is recommended.
  • Experience in estate, construction, or mining fuel management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of EWURA regulations applicable to fuel storage and handling is an added advantage.
