Job Summary

CNS Group is seeking a technically skilled and forward thinking IT Manager for a luxury beachfront resort in Zanzibar. The role is responsible for leading and managing all technology infrastructure, systems, and IT operations, ensuring flawless pre opening setup and uninterrupted digital efficiency once the resort becomes operational. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise across network infrastructure, hospitality systems, and data security, with the ability to support Front Office, Food and Beverage, Finance, HR, and Guest Services through a secure, reliable, and high performing technological foundation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, install, and configure all network infrastructure including servers, routers, Wi-Fi, and data systems across all departments to achieve complete pre opening operational readiness.
  • Coordinate with software vendors for successful implementation and integration of Opera PMS, POS, Canary, Accounting, and HR systems, ensuring all platforms function seamlessly from day one.
  • Ensure the resort's data centers, security cameras, and communication systems are properly installed, tested, and fully operational prior to opening.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and data protection protocols to safeguard company and guest information across all departments and systems.
  • Establish reliable data backup and recovery systems to prevent data loss and downtime, ensuring business continuity at all times.
  • Conduct thorough testing of network stability, software reliability, and cybersecurity measures ahead of resort launch and throughout ongoing operations.
  • Train all department heads and team members on system use and troubleshooting, providing technical support during mock operations and system testing phases.
  • Ensure all IT systems and software operate with maximum efficiency and minimal downtime, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly across all departments.
  • Conduct regular audits of software licenses, hardware assets, and data security compliance to maintain a secure and well documented IT environment.
  • Identify and implement new technologies to improve operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and cybersecurity, working with management to upgrade systems and introduce automation tools where applicable.
  • Prepare monthly IT performance and maintenance reports for the General Manager, maintaining updated documentation for all systems, equipment, and software.
  • Continuously monitor and enhance security protocols, data backup, and recovery plans to support the resort's long term technological resilience and guest experience goals.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT management, preferably within the hospitality or luxury resort industry, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality systems including Opera PMS, POS, Canary, Accounting, and HR platforms is preferred.
  • Hands on experience in network infrastructure setup including servers, routers, Wi-Fi, and data systems is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of IT security policies, data protection protocols, and cybersecurity best practices is recommended.
  • Prior experience in pre opening hotel or resort IT setup is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, training, and communication skills with the ability to support multiple departments simultaneously is recommended.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, maintain documentation, and drive continuous system improvement is recommended.
