Job Summary:

The Truck Driver will be responsible for safely transporting agricultural materials, inputs, equipment, supplies, and other authorized loads within the estate and to approved external destinations. The role will support efficient agricultural operations while ensuring safe driving, proper load handling, and good vehicle care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate assigned trucks to transport agricultural inputs, materials, equipment, supplies, and other authorized loads.
  • Ensure loads are properly arranged, secured, and transported within approved vehicle capacity.
  • Conduct daily pre-start inspections, including tyres, brakes, fluids, lights, and general vehicle condition.
  • Follow assigned routes and transportation schedules to support timely field operations.
  • Maintain accurate trip, mileage, fuel, and vehicle operating records.
  • Perform basic operator-level checks and ensure routine servicing is completed according to schedule.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, damage, or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Comply with Tanzanian road traffic laws, estate procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Form Four education or equivalent.
  • Valid Tanzanian driving licence appropriate for the assigned truck/heavy commercial vehicle.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional truck-driving experience, preferably in agriculture, logistics, construction, or project operations.
  • Good knowledge of safe loading, load securing, transportation, and unloading procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of truck inspection and routine vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to safely operate on farm roads, unpaved roads, and varying terrain.
  • Good discipline, reliability, time management, and safety awareness.
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale agricultural or field operations will be an added advantage.
