Depot Operator

Job Summary

CNS Group is seeking a skilled Depot Operator for a leading petroleum storage terminal in Dar es Salaam. The role is responsible for supporting safe and efficient fuel handling operations, monitoring depot activities, ensuring compliance with operational procedures, and maintaining terminal performance standards. The ideal candidate should have strong technical awareness, safety consciousness, and experience in terminal or fuel depot operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily fuel receipt, storage, and dispatch operations.
• Ensure safe handling of petroleum products within the depot.
• Operate and monitor pumps, valves, meters, and storage systems.
• Conduct tank gauging and stock level monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental procedures.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and report abnormalities.
• Support loading and offloading of petroleum products.
• Maintain accurate operational records and stock documentation.
• Coordinate with dispatch and maintenance teams for smooth operations.
• Follow all terminal operating procedures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in depot operations, terminal operations, or fuel handling environment.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, petroleum storage, or industrial operations is preferred.
• Good understanding of fuel handling systems and depot safety standards.
• Strong knowledge of operational procedures and stock monitoring.
• Ability to work under pressure and in shift operations.
• Good reporting and documentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is an added advantage.
