Cleaner (Mfanya Usafi)

Job Summary

Our client in the Agribusiness industry is seeking a responsible and hardworking Cleaner / Mfanya Usafi to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across its milling and operational facilities in Kigoma. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning production areas, offices, warehouses, washrooms, and other assigned areas while ensuring the workplace remains clean, orderly, hygienic, and safe for employees and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean milling areas, offices, warehouses, toilets, and other assigned areas on a daily basis.
• Sweep, mop, dust, and clean floors, surfaces, and work areas to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
• Keep areas around milling machines and production equipment free from dust, dirt, waste, and other materials that may create hygiene or safety risks.
• Collect, separate where required, and dispose of waste safely and in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the workplace.
• Clean and maintain washrooms and ensure they remain hygienic and properly supplied.
• Use cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment correctly and safely.
• Report shortages of cleaning materials, damaged cleaning equipment, or areas requiring additional attention to the supervisor.
• Identify and promptly report spills, hazards, damaged facilities, or other conditions that could affect workplace safety or hygiene.
• Follow all workplace health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures while performing cleaning duties.
• Properly store cleaning equipment and materials after use and keep designated storage areas organized.
• Support general workplace cleanliness during operational activities when required.
• Perform other cleaning and related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Basic education or relevant vocational training in Cleaning Services, Housekeeping, Hygiene & Sanitation, or other related field will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant cleaning experience is preferred, particularly in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, hospitality, commercial, or similar working environment.
• Must be in good physical health and capable of performing cleaning and other physically demanding duties.
• Strong awareness of cleanliness, hygiene, and workplace sanitation.
• Basic knowledge of safe cleaning practices and proper use of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Ability to follow health, safety, and hygiene instructions.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, disciplined, punctual, and attentive to cleanliness.
• Willingness to perform assigned duties in different areas of the facility as required.
