Job Summary
CNS Group is seeking a skilled and guest focused Barista for a luxury beachfront resort in Zanzibar. The role is responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of coffee and beverage selections to the highest quality standards, while delivering warm and attentive guest service across the resort's food and beverage outlets. The ideal candidate should possess strong barista craftsmanship, a passion for coffee culture, and the ability to create memorable guest experiences within a luxury hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide variety of hot and cold coffee beverages, including espresso based drinks, specialty coffees, and other beverages, in accordance with the resort's quality and presentation standards.
- Operate, clean, and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and related barista equipment, ensuring all equipment is in safe and proper working condition at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well stocked barista station, ensuring all coffee beans, milk, syrups, and related supplies are fresh, properly stored, and readily available for service.
- Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and provide recommendations on beverage selections based on guest preferences to enhance their overall experience.
- Maintain consistent quality and presentation of all beverages served, ensuring every cup meets the resort's luxury hospitality standards.
- Monitor stock levels of coffee, beverage ingredients, and barista supplies, coordinating with the relevant department for timely replenishment to avoid shortages.
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards throughout all beverage preparation and service activities, in compliance with hotel health and safety policies.
- Coordinate with the Food and Beverage team during service periods to ensure smooth workflow, timely beverage preparation, and seamless guest service delivery.
- Handle guest feedback and special requests professionally, escalating any unresolved concerns to the outlet supervisor or manager promptly.
- Stay updated on coffee trends, brewing techniques, and new beverage offerings, contributing ideas to enhance the resort's beverage menu and guest experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Food and Beverage, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of barista experience within a hotel, resort, or specialty coffee establishment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, espresso machine operation, and latte art is preferred.
- Excellent guest service and communication skills with the ability to engage warmly with guests are recommended.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards applicable to beverage preparation is recommended.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced luxury hospitality environment is recommended.
- Experience working in a luxury hotel or resort food and beverage outlet is an added advantage.
