The Senior NPI Manager is responsible for providing technical leadership and project management for new product introduction (NPI) programs. This role manages development projects from initial samples through qualification and ensures a smooth transfer to Operations/Production while meeting quality, cost, and time-to-market targets.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all NPI team activities and development projects.
- Manage project schedules and ensure milestones for customer samples and qualifications are met.
- Provide regular project status updates to management and global stakeholders.
- Work closely with Design Engineering teams across regions to support new product development activities.
- Participate in design reviews and provide DFM feedback on components and cable assemblies.
- Oversee preliminary testing and analysis of NPI samples; issue technical reports with improvement recommendations.
- Collect and analyze process data to optimize assembly processes in collaboration with ME, R&D, and QA teams.
- Coordinate qualification builds and customer sample deliveries through the NPI team.
- Lead the transfer of new products to Operations/Production after all documentation and qualifications are completed.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cable assembly or connector development.
- At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of quality and problem-solving tools such as SPC, Six Sigma, D-FMEA, P-FMEA, Cp/Cpk, and R&R.
- Experience with high-speed stamping, injection molding, plating processes, or cable manufacturing is preferred.
- Proficiency in project management and MS Office tools (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
- Good command of English and Chinese
