Project Engineering manager_Solar EPC

 Job Description:

I - Job Summary:

  • The Project Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of solar power projects (rooftop, C&I, industrial) from site survey, design, construction, testing & commissioning to handover and operation.
  • This is a key role in the company's development strategy, requiring strong technical expertise, comprehensive project management capability, high ownership mindset, and strong commitment to quality, safety, and schedule.
  • The position ensures EPC projects are delivered within scope, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the company's quality standards.

II - Key Responsibilities:

1. EPC Project Management & Execution:

  • Take full responsibility for planning, coordinating, and supervising EPC projects across multiple sites.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle: site survey, technical design, cost estimation & BOQ, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Develop and control project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to meet committed targets.
  • Supervise and coordinate contractors, consultants, and suppliers; resolve technical and construction issues.
  • Conduct site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards.
  • Work with relevant authorities on permitting, grid connection, inspection, and acceptance documentation.

2. Engineering Management & Technical Review:

  • Review and validate system designs, drawings, and BOQ to optimize performance, cost, and system durability.
  • Propose technical solutions to improve system efficiency, reliability, and lifecycle performance.
  • Stay updated on new PV technologies, equipment, and industry standards.
  • Participate in preparing technical documentation for proposals/bids and support Sales/Business Development during pre-project phases.

3. Cross-functional Coordination:

  • Coordinate with Sales to assess project feasibility and technical solutions.
  • Work closely with Procurement & Supply Chain to ensure material quality and delivery schedules.
  • Support Finance in budgeting, cost control, and project financial evaluation.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

4. Leadership & Process Improvement:

  • Lead and manage the engineering and project team (design engineers, site supervisors, QA/QC, etc.).
  • Train, coach, and mentor technical staff.
  • Capture lessons learned and propose improvements to EPC processes.
  • Contribute to the development of internal project management systems and technical standards.

5. Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure full compliance with Vietnamese regulations, industry standards, and the company's internal procedures.
  • Identify and manage project risks, implementing preventive and corrective measures in a timely manner.

III – Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electrical & Electronics, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in solar PV, renewable energy, or EPC projects.
  • Proven experience in managing technical projects (design, construction, commissioning).
  • Solid understanding of PV standards, electrical systems, industrial safety, and EPC processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, design software, or project management tools (MS Project, Asana, etc.).
  • Strong planning, scheduling, cost control, and resource management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, BOQs, and technical standards.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective team leadership and stakeholder coordination capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good English communication skills, especially for technical work.
