Product Design Lead

Job Purpose

As the Product Design Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the experience layer (UI/UX) of our in-house FoodTech platform product and other emerging tech products in the food & beverage (F&B) industry in the Philippines - Core Platform, POS, customer facing products to name a few

This is a people manager role who will lead a talented team of junior product designers, and the candidate will report directly to the Head of Product. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of product managers, engineers, Finance, Commercial, and Kitchen Operations among others.

Main Duties

Product Design - UI/UX

• Lead the design team in translating business requirements to design and research solutions that are simple, scalable, user-centric, and solve actual user pain points and needs.

• Create the overall direction & strategy of scalable design systems and style guides to ensure brand consistency across all products.

• Champions UX best practices within the product portfolio and overall Company.

UX Research

• Be a strong advocate for research, collaborate effectively with stakeholders (product managers, marketing, Commercial), translate research into design decisions, and communicate the value of research to stakeholders.

• Be the champion for user-centered design and advocate including research throughout the design process.

• Collaborate with product managers and various business teams to understand business goals and translate them into research goals that will inform the design direction.

Stakeholder management

• Partner with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business goals into successful and scalable design solutions.

• Communicate design concepts and decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Provide insights into product, technology, and market trends, pre-empting imminent disruptions and identifying opportunities for acceleration.

Leadership and mentorship

• Mentor and coach junior designers, fostering their professional development and design skills.

• Support the Head of Product in creating, iterating and reviewing the Design Levels framework, the framework for career progression & skills & competency advancement.

• Create and foster a team & organization culture where feedback and research are non-negotiables.
