Job Overview:

The Copy Editor will be responsible for reviewing and refining content across various formats, including articles, blog posts, marketing materials, and social media. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent grammar and language skills, and the ability to maintain consistency in style and tone throughout all content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit content for clarity, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style, ensuring high-quality output that adheres to company standards
  2. Style Consistency: Ensure that all content maintains a consistent voice and style in accordance with the brand's guidelines and industry standards
  3. Fact-Checking: Verify the accuracy of facts and data included in the content to uphold the credibility and reliability of the information
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with writers and content creators to provide constructive feedback, helping them improve their writing skills and enhance content quality
  5. Content Formatting: Prepare content for publication by formatting it according to specified guidelines and ensuring that all elements are correctly displayed
  6. Deadline Management: Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  2. 2+ years of experience in copy editing or proofreading, preferably in a digital or publishing environment
  3. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail
  4. Familiarity with style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago Manual of Style) and content management systems
  5. Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and actionable feedback
