Job Description:

Our client is seeking a skilled Heavy Machinery Rigger to join their team. As a rigger, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, moving, and securing of heavy loads using specialized rigging equipment. This includes working with cranes, hoists, winch systems, chain blocks, forklifts, machinery skates, and toe jacks to move heavy machinery and materials in various environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely rig, lift, move, and position heavy loads using cranes, hoists, and other mechanical equipment
  • Operate machinery such as forklifts, winch systems, chain blocks, toe jacks, and machinery skates to transport equipment and materials
  • Inspect rigging equipment before use to ensure safe operation
  • Calculate load weights, angles, and positioning to ensure the safe and efficient movement of loads
  • Work closely with crane operators and other team members to coordinate lifting operations
  • Secure loads properly and safely to prevent damage to the equipment, property, or personnel
  • Follow safety guidelines, procedures, and protocols during all rigging activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during lifting operations
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth and safe operation

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in heavy machinery rigging and handling equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and hoists
  • Knowledge of rigging techniques and safety regulations
  • Ability to calculate load weights and capacities
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and load-shifting principles
  • Forklift operator certification (Nice to have)
  • ASP construction card (Nice to have)
  • Valid Class 1, 3, or 5 drivers license (Nice to have)
  • Must be able to speak French or English

Salary: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.
