The Role Project Manager
Deliver on multiple nature recovery projects with a primary focus on peatland restoration across the UK. Oversee the entire project lifecycle, driving multi-discipline collaboration, risk management and supporting team development through a customer-centric approach.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Leadership Oversee site assessments, restoration planning, and project monitoring, ensuring ecological integrity and compliance with regulations.
- Mentoring on site support team members professional growth
- Work closely with key departments, including biodiversity risk management, climate resilience, and innovation teams, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Collaborate with the Key Account Manager to align client expectations and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Engage with external stakeholders, such as landowners, regulators, and conservation organisations, to facilitate successful project delivery.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment with their goals. Develop solid working relationships and partnerships.
- Business Development - Lead the identification and pursuit of opportunities for new nature recovery projects, with a focus on peatland restoration.
- Develop bids and proposals and collaborate with the commercial team
- Risk Management and Key Account Integration including ecological, financial, and operational risks.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations in all project activities.
- Tender and Contractor Management provide technical expertise to tender processes, collaborating with the bid team to develop winning proposals.
- Strategic Contribution represent at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder engagements
- Provide feedback and insights from projects to enhance future restoration efforts and strategic planning.

Required Attributes
Essential:
- Proven experience managing multiple ecological restoration projects
- Solid organisational and project management skills
- Resource allocation and budget management.
- Ability to coach and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in on-site environments.
- Client relationship management and a customer-centric approach.
- Knowledge of ecological principles, habitat restoration techniques, and monitoring methodologies.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations
- Project risk management experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.
- Full lifecycle experience from business case approval, design, execution & handover
- A full UK driving licence will be required for this position.
Desirable
- Tools & technologies innovation such as AI & remote sensors for restoration and monitoring.
- Experience securing funding and preparing bids for environmental projects.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., CIEEM).
- NEC4 experience
