Looking for a steady CDL-A position that keeps you close to home? We are hiring an experienced CDL-A Yard Spotter / Switcher Driver in Lafayette, Louisiana.
This is a dedicated local position offering hourly pay, overtime after 40 hours, daily home time, no driver unloading, and a consistent Monday–Friday workweek.
PAY & BONUSES
- $24.00 per hour
- $36.00 per hour overtime after 40 hours
- Average approximately $1,200–$1,300+ per week
- $200 quarterly safety bonus
- Holiday and vacation pay based on average prior earnings
SCHEDULE & HOME TIME
- Home daily
- Primarily Monday–Friday
- Yard/Switcher shifts may include:
- 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
- 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
- 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Current yard needs may include 3rd shift
- Occasional weekend work may be required based on operational needs
THE JOB
- Dedicated yard spotting / switching operation
- Move and position loaded and empty trailers
- Some trailer moves may be made to nearby off-site warehouse locations
- No driver unloading
- Dry van freight
- Yard dog equipment
- Onsite/customer-location parking
- Consistent dedicated operation
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 12 months of qualifying CDL-A experience
- Must live within approximately 35 miles of Lafayette, LA 70508
- Must be dependable and safety-focused
- Must be comfortable working the assigned shift
- Must be available for occasional weekend work when required
- Additional driving-record and employment-history qualifications apply
