CDL-A Local Dry Van Driver – Hartford, CT

Looking for a local CDL-A driving job in Hartford, CT with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule and daily home time? We are hiring an experienced CDL-A company driver for a dedicated round-trip dry van route.

This position offers approximately 2,300 miles per week, home time every day and weekends off.

PAY & COMPENSATION

• $1,366 average weekly pay first year
• $0.52 per mile first year
• Starting hourly pay: $23/hour
• Overtime: $34.50/hour
• After 12 months: $24/hour
• After 12 months overtime: $36/hour
• $17 per stop
• Approximately 10 stops per week
• $500 new-hire transition bonus paid on the second paycheck
• 8-hour minimum pay if a scheduled load is canceled

HOME DAILY SCHEDULE

• Home daily
• Monday through Friday
• Weekends off
• Approximately 1:30 PM–2:30 AM
• Consistent round-trip route
• Approximately 2,300 miles per week

ROUTE

Drivers operate a consistent round-trip route between the Hartford, CT area and Philadelphia, PA.

This provides a predictable lane without constantly changing routes.

FREIGHT & LOAD SECUREMENT

• Dry van freight
• Steel coils secured on wooden pallets
• Driver does not unload the freight
• Driver is responsible for load securement
• Securement requires nailing wood into the trailer floor
• Live loading required in Philadelphia

This is primarily no-touch freight, but drivers must be comfortable performing the required physical load-securement work.

EQUIPMENT

• Newer automatic transmission tractor
• Electronic logs
• PrePass-equipped
• Front-facing camera
• Truck governed at 65 MPH

DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 6 months recent tractor-trailer experience
• Must live within approximately 30 miles of Hartford, CT
• Must be available for afternoon and overnight hours
• Must be comfortable securing loads using wood and nails
• Must be comfortable with live loading
• Must be comfortable operating equipment with a front-facing camera
