Quick Rundown:
The Accountant is responsible for maintaining and reconciling financial records, preparing accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles for hospitality and property operations. The role involves collaboration with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights, ensuring regulatory compliance, and staying informed on changes in accounting standards and industry trends.
What You'll Do:
Maintain and reconcile financial records for hospitality and property-related transactions
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Monitor and analyze financial data to ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment verification, and collections
Conduct regular audits of financial transactions to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
Prepare and submit tax filings, including sales tax, occupancy tax, and property tax
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes for hospitality and property-related operations
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as property managers and department heads, to provide financial insights and support decision-making
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards
Stay up to date with changes in accounting principles, tax laws, and industry trends
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably with exposure to hospitality and property accounting
Proficient in accounting software, Google Suite and MS Office Suite
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
