Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and creative Social Media Specialist to join our team. The primary role will be to transform long-form body cam footage into captivating short-form content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and more. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for content creation, basic video editing skills, and a solid understanding of social media trends and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Video Content Creation:
Repurpose and edit long-form body cam videos (ranging from 1 hour or more) into shorter, attention-grabbing clips suitable for social media
Ensure all videos are formatted, subtitled, and optimized for different platforms (e.g.9:16 format for Instagram Stories/Reels, 1:1 for Facebook/Instagram posts)
Maintain high-quality video standards by adding graphics, text overlays, and ensuring smooth transitions
Social Media Management:
Create, schedule, and manage daily social media posts across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
Collaborate with the marketing and creative teams to ensure content aligns with the brand voice and messaging
Use social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, or Meta Business Suite) to organize and automate posting schedules
Engagement and Community Building:
Monitor engagement metrics such as likes, comments, shares, and overall audience growth
Respond to comments and direct messages promptly, fostering positive interactions with the online community
Track audience sentiment and engagement patterns to recommend adjustments to content strategies
Content Strategy and Optimization:
Stay updated with the latest trends, algorithms, and best practices on all social media platforms to optimize content reach and performance
Implement A/B testing strategies for content (captions, video formats, posting times) to identify what resonates best with the audience
Assist in brainstorming new content ideas and approaches to drive higher engagement
Analytics and Reporting:
Track, analyze, and report key performance metrics for social media campaigns, including engagement rates, reach, impressions, and follower growth
Prepare monthly reports highlighting social media performance, successes, areas for improvement, and new opportunities for growth
Recommend data-driven strategies to increase followers, improve engagement, and drive traffic to websites or other marketing funnels
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work closely with the Partner Team, Marketing, and Creative Departments to ensure content is aligned with broader company goals and initiatives
Collaborate with graphic designers, video editors, and content creators to enhance the quality and effectiveness of posts
Coordinate with customer support teams to address concerns or questions that arise on social platforms
Qualifications:
Proficiency in video editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Canva, or iMovie, with an ability to repurpose raw footage into polished social media clips
Strong familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube
Knowledge of social media best practices for creating high-engagement content, including optimal formats, hashtags, and posting times
Ability to generate innovative ideas for content that aligns with the brand's messaging and resonates with the target audience
Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines, and staying organized under pressure
Strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring all social media interactions are professional and on-brand
Willingness to quickly adapt to changes in social media trends, algorithms, and platform-specific features
Comfortable analyzing social media metrics to inform and optimize future content strategies
Previous experience in content creation for law enforcement, body cam footage, or related industries
Experience with paid social media advertising campaigns (Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads)
Familiarity with SEO and social media analytics tools
