Quick Rundown:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented IT Documentation Specialist to join our IT team. This role will focus on creating, maintaining, and optimizing comprehensive documentation for IT processes, workflows, and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, IT operations, and process formalization. They will play a critical role in ensuring that the IT department operates smoothly by providing clear, organized, and accessible resources for internal use.


What You'll Do:

1. Documentation Development

  • Develop, organize, and maintain detailed IT process documentation, including workflows, policies, and technical guides

  • Create user-friendly playbooks and how-to guides for IT team members and other stakeholders

  • Ensure all documentation is clear, accurate, and up-to-date

2. Process Formalization

  • Collaborate with IT teams to formalize and standardize workflows and processes

  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current processes and document improved procedures

  • Ensure consistency in documentation across all IT operations

3. Training and Knowledge Management

  • Serve as a central resource for IT team members to access process documentation and guides

  • Provide training or support to IT staff on how to use documented resources effectively

  • Maintain a centralized repository for IT documentation, ensuring ease of access and version control

4. Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Assist in maintaining documentation to meet compliance and audit requirements

  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure that documentation reflects current practices and standards

  • Support IT teams during internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of documentation and recommend updates or enhancements

  • Stay updated on best practices in IT documentation and implement relevant improvements

  • Provide input on tools and systems to improve documentation efficiency and accessibility


What Were Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Technical Writing, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in technical writing, IT documentation, or related roles
  • Familiarity with IT systems, software development lifecycles, and process formalization
  • Exceptional technical writing and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, or similar platforms
  • Understanding of IT processes and methodologies, such as ITIL or Agile practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Certifications (Preferred):

  • ITIL Foundation Certification

  • Certifications in Technical Writing or Process Improvement
