Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 / DOE

Job Description:

The Transportation Engineer, PE will collaborate with other transportation team members, land surveyors, environmental engineers, construction engineer inspectors, and landscape architects to assist clients in developing transportation-related projects. This role will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of transportation projects with private and public clients throughout the state and southeast.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute transportation design plans, studies, and analyses through project software
  • Perform horizontal and vertical geometric design
  • Design stormwater/erosion prevention and sediment control/traffic control systems
  • Direct and train junior staff
  • Support project managers in meeting project goals and providing quality deliverables
  • Perform additional related duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • 4-6+ years of engineering experience, with recent experience in transportation design preferred
  • Tennessee PE license or EI Registration
  • Understanding of roadway design guidance from AASHTO
  • Knowledge of TDOT guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation
  • Experience in the development of roadway plans and specifications along with local municipalities and permitting agencies
  • Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads, or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
