Location: Nashville, TN
Duration: Full-time permanent
Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 / DOE
Important: Candidates must have a Tennessee PE license or EI Registration
Job Description:
The Transportation Engineer, PE will collaborate with other transportation team members, land surveyors, environmental engineers, construction engineer inspectors, and landscape architects to assist clients in developing transportation-related projects. This role will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of transportation projects with private and public clients throughout the state and southeast.
Responsibilities:
- Execute transportation design plans, studies, and analyses through project software
- Perform horizontal and vertical geometric design
- Design stormwater/erosion prevention and sediment control/traffic control systems
- Direct and train junior staff
- Support project managers in meeting project goals and providing quality deliverables
- Perform additional related duties as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- 4-6+ years of engineering experience, with recent experience in transportation design preferred
- Tennessee PE license or EI Registration
- Understanding of roadway design guidance from AASHTO
- Knowledge of TDOT guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation
- Experience in the development of roadway plans and specifications along with local municipalities and permitting agencies
- Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads, or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
