Job Title: Family Nurse Practitioner

Salary: $120,000 plus

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Brampton. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive healthcare services to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, and managing chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physical exams, obtain patient histories, and develop treatment plans.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and respiratory disorders.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies as needed.
  • Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays.
  • Provide prenatal and postnatal care, including family planning services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner certification.
  • Current registration with the Nursing regulatory body in Canada.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple patients with diverse needs.

Additional Information: Our client is also seeking a Nurse Practitioner to add to their clinical team. The Nurse Practitioner functions as an essential member of the healthcare team in providing comprehensive multidisciplinary collaborative primary healthcare services to the community. These services include primary care, occupational minor trauma care, health promotion, prevention of diseases and injuries, rehabilitation, and support services.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive health assessments using sound clinical judgment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.
  • Practice autonomously and be solely accountable for his/her actions while practicing.
  • Consult with physicians or other healthcare professionals when the clients condition requires care beyond the scope of NP practice.
  • Make appropriate medical employment limitation recommendations in accordance with the Surgeon Generals guidelines.
  • Prescribe medications and order x-rays, ultrasounds, and lab tests in accordance with the Standards of Practice for RNs in the Extended Class.
  • Implement strategies to promote health and prevent illness with individuals, families, or groups.
  • Collaborate on the management of patients with stable chronic illnesses (such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and asthma) through a predetermined referral process.
  • Refer patients to other providers or programs according to the patients need.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Ontario.
  • Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C certification.
