Intermediate Structural Engineer

Role Overview:

Our client is searching for a skilled Structural Engineer to join their esteemed team. This role involves designing and managing structural engineering projects, ensuring that all deliverables meet high standards of quality and compliance. As a Structural Engineer, you will work closely with other engineering professionals and clients to develop effective solutions for various projects. Location:

This position is available at any of our clients offices: Kitchener, Hamilton, Toronto, or Calgary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze structural components and systems for a range of projects, including new construction, renovations, and assessments.
  • Develop and review detailed engineering calculations, models, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project teams and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and effective solutions.
  • Engage with clients to understand their requirements, provide project updates, and ensure their expectations are met.
  • Conduct site visits to review construction progress and verify that work meets design specifications and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and building client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering or a related field; a Masters degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA or PEO.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects.
  • Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RISA, Revit).
  • Strong understanding of building codes, seismic design, and structural materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
