Salary: $140,000 - $175,000+ (depending on experience)
About the Opportunity
City Build Recruitment is working with a leading consultancy to identify a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in healthcare and hospital infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for professionals with an architecture background and experience in architecture firms specializing in healthcare, or engineers with experience in architectural firms working on hospital and medical facility projects.
The successful candidate will lead large-scale hospital, long-term care, and healthcare facility projects, managing project execution, financial oversight, and regulatory compliance while maintaining strong client relationships.
Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of complex healthcare projects from planning through construction. This includes managing scope, schedules, budgets, coordination with healthcare authorities, and ensuring compliance with healthcare facility regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Oversee major hospital, long-term care, and healthcare infrastructure projects, ensuring smooth execution from concept to completion.
- Client Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with hospital administrators, government agencies, and healthcare facility stakeholders.
- Financial Oversight: Take responsibility for project budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting.
- Healthcare Regulations & Compliance: Ensure adherence to Ontario Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines, CSA health facility standards, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential project challenges and implement proactive solutions to maintain project timelines and quality.
- PCN Management: Develop and oversee Proposed Change Notices (PCNs) to ensure scope changes are documented and approved.
- Team Coordination: Lead and mentor project teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Degree in architecture or engineering, with experience in architecture firms specializing in healthcare design and construction.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of project management experience in healthcare facility and hospital infrastructure projects.
- Financial Acumen: Strong background in budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control for large-scale healthcare projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of hospital construction standards, infection control protocols, and healthcare-specific building codes.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and oversee complex healthcare projects.
