*Project Architect*

Our client is an established mid-size, full-service architecture firm located in downtown Toronto, founded in 1980. They are innovators in the design and delivery of impactful environments with a social agenda, including schools and child care centers, long-term care homes, and seniors' and affordable housing projects. Unique among architects, they also offer a modified-construction management delivery model on one-third of their projects.

*Role*

We are currently seeking a Project Architect to join our client's team. In this capacity, the candidate will be responsible for leading, developing, coordinating, and collaborating with project teams through all phases of design, approvals, and construction administration.

The candidate should have strong organizational, design, and technical skills, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. They will be empathetic and tenacious, self-motivated and detail-oriented, and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

*Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements*

The ideal candidate will have experience in educational facility design and construction documentation. Experience in long-term care, multi-unit residential, and/or aquatics and athletics center design and construction is an asset.

The following are minimum qualifications:

- Graduate of an accredited architectural degree program.

- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Architect in the project types listed above.

- Ability to work as a project lead on projects from design conception to completion with minimal supervision under the direction of a firm Principal.

- Proven ability to successfully manage and lead approvals processes, including site plan approval and building permit.

- Ability to work in a team-based environment on multiple concurrent assignments.

- Excellent working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.

- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Experience in contract administration is an asset.
