Purpose of the job
Responsible for keeping the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.
Accountabilities and Duties
- Responsible for the evaluation of database software purchases.
- Supervising modifications to any existing database software to meet the needs of their employer.
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of company databases.
- Guaranteeing that data is stored securely and optimally.
- Informing end users of changes in databases and train them to utilize systems.
- Ensuring the security of company data.
- Designing and implementing databases in accordance to end users information needs and views.
- Using high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.
- Minimizing database downtime and managing parameters to provide fast query responses.
- Providing proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
- Determining, enforcing and documenting database policies, procedures and standards.
- Performing tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity.
- Monitoring database performance, implementing changes and applying new patches and versions when required.

Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in database administration.
- Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL.
- Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding.
- Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools.
- Familiarity with programming languages API.
- Very Good English language is a must.
