Purpose of the job

Responsible for keeping the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.

Accountabilities and Duties

  • Responsible for the evaluation of database software purchases.
  • Supervising modifications to any existing database software to meet the needs of their employer.
  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of company databases.
  • Guaranteeing that data is stored securely and optimally.
  • Informing end users of changes in databases and train them to utilize systems.
  • Ensuring the security of company data.
  • Designing and implementing databases in accordance to end users information needs and views.
  • Using high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.
  • Minimizing database downtime and managing parameters to provide fast query responses.
  • Providing proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
  • Determining, enforcing and documenting database policies, procedures and standards.
  • Performing tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity.
  • Monitoring database performance, implementing changes and applying new patches and versions when required.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in database administration.
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL.
  • Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding.
  • Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools.
  • Familiarity with programming languages API.
  • Very Good English language is a must.
