As a Middle System Administrator at our company, we expect you to be responsible for:
- All Internet access and Network infrastructure at the office will be part of your responsibilities
- Setting up laptops, instructing new employees with security training and requirements from our list
- Troubleshooting workstations, printers, end-user hardware, email, and a whole host of other technical issues as they arise, carrying out routine tasks to support our infrastructure.
- Asset management and the purchase of software, hardware, and IT systems
- Configure and maintain Company phone systems and mobile phone support
- Upgrading and installing software for end-users on both Windows, Linux, and Mac desktop operating systems
- Installation/configuration/diagnosis and maintenance of the system's hardware-related infrastructure that supports the entire business
- Supporting Remote users and their technical needs
- Network hardware setup (OpenWRT, Ubiquiti, Cisco Meraki)
- Solving problems with 3-rd party services (online telephony, hosting, mailing services, billing)
- Configuring web servers, deploying sites, working with hosting providers
- Implementation of new application solutions, including technical support
- Create and maintain system administration procedures and technical documentation
- Automation of routine tasks
- Ability to be in touch 24/7 remotely, and be ready to solve problems in some rare emergency cases (there is a team who is rotating for urgent cases, so it will not be only the responsibility of colleagues in this position)
Required skills:
- High level of ability to write and speak in English
- Advanced knowledge in the area of OS Linux and Windows Services, Active Directory, experience in server administration of both OS, experience in diagnosing and solving problems (disk and network problems, rights and hardware issues)
- Good knowledge of administering Microsoft AD/Entra ID
- Practical network installation experience, ability to choose equipment according to needs
- Knowledge of routing principles and protocols in networks, VLANs, and firewall configuring
- Knowledge of Linux basic networking utilities - ping, telnet, netstat, tcpdump, ifconfig, ip
- The ability to configure the VPN servers and clients (OpenVPN/IPsec)
- The ability to configure DHCP, DNS, SFTP, HTTP, proxy server
- At least 2 years of experience in system administration
- A proactive approach to work and bringing bright ideas
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies adapt quickly to a dynamic environment, stress tolerance, and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Self-organization, constructive problems solution
- Flexibility in approach and tools for solving problems
- Ability to be patient and polite with people who ask you for help
The following would be a plus:
- Having a certificate from the above fields will be considered a plus (e.g. CCNA, AZ-800, or similar)
- Experience in network planning
- Good knowledge in administering Microsoft365
- Ansible, Docker, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, and AWS
- Python/Perl/Bash - ability to write simple scripts to automate tasks, parse logs, apply regexp
- Nginx (LEMP stack) - server configuration, understanding how locations are handled, reverse-proxy
