Person in this position will play a key role in modernizing the organization's data infrastructure, including supporting cloud migration initiatives and improving system scalability, while ensuring minimal downtime and high data reliability.

As a PHP Developer (Symfony) at our company, we expect you to be responsible for:

• Work with Doctrine ORM, including entities, repositories, relationships, migrations, and efficient data modelling.

• Contribute to an existing codebase by understanding architecture, team conventions, and business logic without getting lost in complexity.

• Write clean, modular, reusable, readable, and maintainable code that follows team standards and long-term engineering best practices.

• Cover development work with unit and integration tests to ensure reliability, regression protection, and code quality.

• Write and optimize efficient MySQL queries, considering indexes, avoiding N+1 issues, and improving database performance.

• Enhance and maintain existing systems by identifying inefficiencies, reducing technical debt, and improving system reliability and uptime.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve backend issues, optimizing application performance and minimizing downtime.

• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality, architecture, maintainability, and team productivity.

• Collaborate with frontend developers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective backend solutions.

• Clarify requirements before implementation by asking the right questions, identifying edge cases early, and aligning technical work with project goals.

• Manage and prioritize development tasks to meet deadlines and support team and organizational objectives.

• Continuously evaluate new technologies, tools, and best practices to improve backend development capabilities and system performance.

Required skills:

• 3+ years of PHP experience with real Symfony or relevant project background
• Hands-on Doctrine ORM experience
• Solid MySQL skills: queries, schema understanding, basic optimization
• Good grasp of OOP, SOLID, and common design patterns
• Comfortable debugging with Xdebug and reading through logs (ELK)
• Experience writing unit and/or integration tests
• Git: development using GitFlow

Would be a plus:

• Experience with high-load or high-volume systems

• Async processing: queues, Redis

• Docker and basic CI/CD

• AWS or any cloud basics

• Grafana or Kibana

• DDD exposure

• AI dev tools like Claude Code or Codex
