Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Welfare and Compliance Officer to champion the welfare and regulatory compliance of our deployed workers. The role involves monitoring worker well-being, handling welfare cases, and ensuring adherence to local and international labor standards. Responsibilities
Employee will be:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for worker welfare concerns, complaints, and incident reports.
- Liaise with government agencies (DMW/POEA, OWWA, DOLE, NLRC, MWO/POLO), embassies, and legal teams regarding worker cases, settlements, and repatriation.
- Attend conciliation meetings and provide timely updates to management.
- Conduct Pre-Departure Briefings (PDB) and ensure completion of all required documentation (Acknowledgement, No Fees Certification, Photo Consent, Covid Declaration, etc.).
- Monitor the well-being and work conditions of deployed workers through regular check-ins and reporting.
- Prepare and submit welfare status reports for management and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate conflict resolution by investigating disputes and proposing fair, effective solutions.
- File insurance claims and prepare necessary legal documents for each case.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and internal policies; recommend process improvements as needed.
- Assist in document management and quality system updates.
- Provide counseling and support to workers, especially in cases of abuse or distress.
- Promote best practices in labor standards and worker welfare.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- At least 2 years' experience as a Welfare Desk Officer, Wellness Officer, or similar role in a manning company or international manpower recruitment agency.
- Strong knowledge of local and international labor standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in handling worker complaints, conciliation meetings, and coordination with government agencies.
- Excellent communication, counseling, and conflict resolution skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to handle sensitive cases with confidentiality.
- Willing to travel and attend offsite meetings as needed.
- Experience in preparing legal documents, insurance claims, and compliance reports.
- Background in document management and quality systems.
- Ability to speak additional languages is an advantage.
