About the job Legal Counsel
The Legal Counsel provides expert legal advice to the organization, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, mitigating legal risks, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role is critical in safeguarding the company's legal standing and enabling ethical, compliant business operations.
Responsibilities:
The Employee will:
- Advise management on legal matters related to business operations, contracts, governance, and compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and internal policies.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and statutory requirements.
- Manage disputes and oversee litigation, including coordination with external counsel.
- Conduct legal research and monitor changes in legislation affecting the business.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and regulatory interactions.
- Support corporate transactions such as M&A, restructuring, and board governance.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on legal and compliance topics.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Doctor of Jurisprudence or Bachelor of Laws Degree holder.
- Member of the Philippine Bar in good standing.
- Minimum 3 years of legal experience (preferably with experience working in a law firm).
- Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, labor, and regulatory law.
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, litigation management, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High ethical standards and sound judgment.
