Safety Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an SC Clear Safety Engineer to support the delivery of a complex defence engineering programme. The role involves developing and maintaining safety documentation, supporting safety case development, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support development and review of Safety Case Reports

• Maintain Hazard Logs and conduct hazard assessments

• Develop and update Safety and Environmental Management Plans

• Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards

• Provide day-to-day safety support to the project team

• Attend and contribute to safety meetings and working groups

• Review contractor safety deliverables and provide feedback

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Experience with safety management systems and processes

• DE&S safety management systems and processes (POSMS).

• Background in Ordnance, Munitions, and Explosives (OME) safety

• Knowledge of safety case development and hazard analysis

• Strong understanding of safety policies, standards, and regulations

• Extensive defence industry experience

• Active SC Clearance

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with environmental safety processes

• Experience working on air or weapons-related projects

• Understanding of complex systems safety integration
