We are looking for a Head of English for an International School based in Chongqing. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2025.

Job details

  • Lead the English department, chair staff meetings, and conduct meetings as needed for the school or department
  • Regularly review and enhance the ESL Policy
  • Deliver CPD training on the ESL Policy and language acquisition while training and supporting teachers to meet classroom targets
  • Collaborate with subject teachers and tutors to create an environment where student learning thrives
  • Establish regular opportunities for teachers to identify students who need additional support
  • Develop detailed English language support plans for English Support (ESU) students and their teachers
  • Train teachers to effectively deliver the ESU programme and proficiency test preparation
  • Design and implement a structured vocabulary acquisition programme within the English Department
  • Oversee and manage the reading programme for all students and tutors
  • Monitor students language development, maintain their profiles, and share relevant information with teachers when needed
  • Support Open Day events and recruitment efforts
  • Proofread school documents

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or above in relevant field
  • At least 3 years teaching experience at international school or bilingual school
  • IGCSE and A-Level experience essential
  • Hold teaching credentials
  • Excellent English communicative skills

Salary and benefits

  • Monthly salary of 32,000 to 34,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • Monthly housing allowance of 4,500 to 5,500 RMB
