Our client, a premier luxury home builder based in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a detail-driven and proactive Accounts Payable Representative to join their dynamic accounting team. Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify trade invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and compliance with contract terms.
- Code and enter invoices into accounting software (QuickBooks and Buildertrend).
- Process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and credit card transactions in a timely manner.
- Manage lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and other required documentation for subcontractor payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies or billing issues.
- Collaborate with project coordinators and project managers to ensure accurate job cost coding and approval workflows.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date AP files.
- Assist with month-end billing processes.
- Track and ensure compliance with contract terms, including retainage and milestone payments.
- Respond to inquiries from trade partners.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably within the construction or home building industry.
- Knowledge of construction-related billing, lien releases, and compliance documents.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks and Buildertrend) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with vendors and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with luxury home construction, custom projects, and high-end material vendors.
- Understanding of job costing and construction billing cycles.
