About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established, multi-branch concrete sawing and specialty services company to identify a strong Operations Manager for its Dallas-area division. This search is focused on identifying a steady, people-focused leader who can provide consistency and structure within a fast-paced service operation, effectively partnering with executive leadership while earning trust and alignment across field and office teams to support long-term growth.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading people, managing complexity, and operating proactively rather than reactively. The division already has solid infrastructure in place—including dispatch, operations support, equipment technicians, and sales—so this position is focused on leadership, accountability, and operational excellence, not rebuilding from scratch.

What You'll Be Responsible For

As the Operations Manager, you will oversee day-to-day performance of the Dallas division, managing approximately 25–30 employees, including field operators, helpers, and office-based support staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and retaining a diverse field and office team
  • Overseeing daily operations across concrete sawing, drilling, wall cutting, wire sawing, and related service work
  • Managing schedules, dispatch coordination, equipment utilization, and workforce planning
  • Reviewing monthly financials, including P&L statements, job profitability, revenue performance, and cost controls
  • Participating in regular financial reviews with senior leadership and finance
  • Managing equipment investment decisions, utilization, depreciation, and capacity planning
  • Driving operational consistency, process improvement, and accountability across the division
  • Creating a positive, respectful work environment where employees feel supported and heard
  • Collaborating with sales leadership (this role is not responsible for selling)
  • Supporting change management as the organization transitions leadership responsibilities internally

What Were Looking For

This role is less about industry tenure and more about who you are as a leader.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Proven experience leading teams of 15+ employees, ideally in a service-based or operational environment
  • A servant-leader mindset—low ego, high accountability, and genuine care for people
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously
  • Comfort reviewing and discussing financial data (P&L, margins, costs, revenue trends)
  • A calm, patient approach to problem-solving and decision-making
  • The ability to build trust quickly with both field and office teams
  • A proactive leadership style—not crisis-driven
  • Experience in construction, concrete, utilities, equipment rental, or service-based industries is helpful, but not required

We can teach the industry specifics. What we cannot teach is humility, patience, and the ability to lead people well.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • You're stepping into a division with strong support already in place
  • You'll partner closely with experienced executive and financial leadership
  • The business has a proven track record and clear growth potential
  • The role offers meaningful bonus upside tied to division performance
  • You'll have real influence over culture, retention, and long-term success
