This role involves overseeing complex technology-driven investigations, managing teams of experts, and helping clients navigate challenges related to data integrity, security, and the discovery of electronically stored information (ESI) in litigation and investigations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage forensic technology and eDiscovery engagements, including data collection, preservation, analysis, and production for litigation, investigations, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Provide expert advisory services on data governance, data security, information management, and compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, PDPA).
  • Oversee the use of forensic tools and technologies to extract, preserve, and analyze large volumes of electronically stored information (ESI), including emails, documents, databases, and other digital assets.
  • Develop and implement eDiscovery strategies for clients involved in complex litigation, regulatory investigations, and internal audits, ensuring the efficient and compliant handling of digital evidence.
  • Provide expert guidance on legal holds, data preservation protocols, and strategies for minimizing eDiscovery costs while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise a team of forensic technology and eDiscovery professionals, providing leadership, mentorship, and training to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Oversee the preparation of forensic technology reports and the presentation of findings to clients, legal teams, and regulatory authorities.
  • Stay updated on developments in digital forensics, eDiscovery tools, and legal technologies, ensuring the firms services remain at the forefront of the industry.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and IT teams to ensure that clients data management practices align with best practices and legal requirements for investigations and litigation.
  • Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities for forensic technology and eDiscovery services, expanding the firms client base, and enhancing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Represent the firm in industry forums, conferences, and events, establishing thought leadership in forensic technology and eDiscovery.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in forensic technology, eDiscovery, or related fields, with a proven track record in managing complex investigations and litigation support.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital forensics, data analytics, and eDiscovery best practices, including data collection, preservation, processing, and production.
  • Expertise in handling large-scale electronic data, using industry-standard eDiscovery platforms and forensic tools (e.g., Relativity, FTK, EnCase).
  • Strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR, PDPA, and other global privacy standards, and their impact on eDiscovery and data management.
  • Experience in advising clients on data security, cybersecurity issues, and incident response in the context of digital forensics and litigation.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor teams of forensic experts, ensuring the efficient execution of projects and the delivery of high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex forensic findings to non-technical stakeholders, including clients, legal teams, and regulators.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to identify new business opportunities, expand the firms service offerings, and foster client relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple investigations simultaneously, and ensure adherence to deadlines and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in handling eDiscovery and forensic technology engagements in a variety of industries, including financial services, healthcare, technology, and government.
  • Background in law, cybersecurity, or information technology, with an emphasis on digital forensics, eDiscovery, or electronic evidence management.
  • Familiarity with advanced forensic tools, data recovery methods, and the latest trends in digital forensics, including mobile device forensics, cloud data analysis, and social media investigations.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in forensic technology, and how these can be applied to eDiscovery and data analysis.
  • Experience in managing cross-border investigations and understanding the complexities of international data privacy laws in the context of eDiscovery.
