This role involves providing expert analysis and strategic advisory on complex financial disputes, fraud investigations, and business valuation-related matters. As a key member of the leadership team, the Forensic Accounting Disputes Partner will oversee a team of professionals, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the growth and development of the firm’s forensic services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage forensic accounting disputes services, including fraud investigations, financial mismanagement, shareholder disputes, business valuations, and financial expert testimony for litigation and arbitration cases.
  • Provide expert witness testimony in legal proceedings, delivering clear and compelling explanations of complex financial issues in a court or arbitration setting.
  • Conduct comprehensive forensic accounting investigations to uncover financial discrepancies, misappropriation of assets, financial statement fraud, and other forms of financial misconduct.
  • Prepare detailed forensic reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to industry standards, while presenting financial analysis and conclusions in a way that is understandable for non-experts.
  • Collaborate with legal teams, clients, and other professionals involved in disputes, ensuring effective communication and alignment with the litigation strategy.
  • Manage high-profile and complex disputes, including corporate fraud, breach of contract, commercial disputes, and business valuation disagreements.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of forensic accountants, ensuring they have the skills, tools, and resources to handle challenging cases and deliver high-quality results.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in forensic accounting, litigation support practices, and emerging fraud detection techniques.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities for forensic accounting services, building relationships with legal professionals, clients, and industry stakeholders.
  • Oversee client relationships, ensuring clients receive exceptional service and tailored solutions for their forensic accounting and dispute-related needs.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources, managing teams, workflows, and budgets for disputes-related cases.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in forensic accounting, financial disputes, and litigation support, with a proven track record of managing complex dispute-related investigations.
  • CPA, CA, or equivalent accounting qualification with strong expertise in forensic accounting methods, fraud detection, and financial analysis.
  • In-depth understanding of Singapore’s legal and regulatory environment, including the Companies Act, anti-money laundering (AML) laws, and financial reporting standards relevant to forensic investigations.
  • Proven experience providing expert witness testimony in litigation and arbitration, with the ability to explain complex financial data clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor junior professionals and oversee multiple high-profile cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, legal advisors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong business development skills, with the ability to generate new client opportunities and expand the firm’s forensic accounting practice.
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying and resolving financial discrepancies, mismanagement, and fraud.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing sensitive and time-critical investigations while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and accuracy.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in handling complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes and managing international fraud investigations.
  • Expertise in business valuation and financial modeling in the context of disputes, including shareholder disputes and breach of contract cases.
  • Background in legal practice or with law enforcement agencies, providing insight into the litigation process and the role of forensic accounting in dispute resolution.
  • Familiarity with emerging issues such as cybercrime, financial technology (FinTech) fraud, and digital asset investigations.
  • Proficiency in forensic accounting software and other digital tools used in data analysis and fraud detection.
