Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to support and empower students with diverse learning needs. You will develop and adapt instructional strategies, ensuring every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Create, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned with each students unique requirements.
- Adaptive Instruction: Tailor lessons and teaching methods to suit varied learning styles and abilities.
- Progress Monitoring: Assess student performance, track growth, and adjust strategies for optimal development.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with general education teachers, support staff, and parents/guardians to foster inclusive, supportive environments.
- Behavior Management: Implement positive strategies and interventions to maintain a conducive classroom atmosphere.
- Professional Growth: Stay current on best practices and innovative teaching methods in special education.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Special Education (or a related field).
- Certification: Active New York State teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience: Prior classroom experience in special education or inclusive settings is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt materials and differentiate instruction effectively.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful learning environment.
