Job Overview: The CAD Designer will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for commercial construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of architectural and structural design principles, as well as knowledge of construction methods and materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in the commercial construction sector and a passion for delivering high-quality designs that meet project specifications and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed CAD drawings for commercial construction projects, including plans, sections, details, and specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and ensure designs meet specifications.
- Review and modify existing CAD drawings based on client feedback or changes in project scope.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations, including local building codes and safety requirements.
- Maintain an organized database of project drawings and documentation.
- Assist in conducting site visits to gather measurements and assess project needs.
- Participate in design reviews and coordinate with other team members to resolve design issues.
- Keep up to date with advancements in CAD technology and construction practices.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a CAD Designer, preferably in the commercial construction or related industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other design tools.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with construction planning and project management software.
- Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and materials.
- Experience with 3D modeling and visualization software.
