Optometry Biller - RCM

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Optometry Biller (PAA) to join our team. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in optometry or vision billing and a strong understanding of billing processes, coding, and insurance claims related to eye care services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and submit vision and medical claims accurately and in a timely manner.
• Verify patient eligibility and benefits for vision and medical insurance plans
• Handle prior authorizations when required.
• Review and ensure proper use of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes, and modifiers
• Follow up on unpaid claims and conduct denial management.
• Resolve claim rejections and denials related to vision and optometry services.
• Coordinate with providers and internal teams to ensure accurate documentation.
• Maintain compliance with payer guidelines and billing regulations.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in optometry/vision billing
• Strong knowledge of vision insurance payers (e.g., VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision, etc.)
• Familiarity with routine vs. medical eye exam billing.
• Proficiency in CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 coding, and modifiers specific to optometry.
• Experience handling vision claim denials and appeals
• Knowledge of common billing systems and EHR platforms.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in a healthcare or optometry practice
• Familiarity with U.S. healthcare insurance processes
• Prior experience in revenue cycle management (RCM)
