Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst who can independently understand business problems and develop practical solutions using Excel, Tableau, SQL, or other appropriate tools.The ideal candidate should be comfortable working directly with stakeholders, leading meetings, gathering requirements, investigating data issues, and communicating findings clearly. Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and thorough validation are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with stakeholders to understand business problems, reporting needs, and operational challenges.
- Independently lead requirement-gathering meetings, report reviews, and dashboard demonstrations.
- Break down complex or unclear requests into structured and practical solutions.
- Select the most appropriate approach, whether through Excel analysis, Tableau dashboards, SQL queries, data reconciliation, or process improvement.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, and analyses.
- Validate data across multiple files, systems, reports, and databases before sharing results.
- Identify discrepancies, missing information, calculation issues, and unexpected results, and investigate their root causes.
- Use Excel for data cleaning, calculations, lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations, comparisons, and ad hoc analysis.
- Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards that clearly present trends, exceptions, and actionable insights.
- Write SQL queries to extract, combine, transform, analyze, and validate data.
- Present findings, limitations, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage multiple requests independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Document business rules, assumptions, calculations, data sources, and reporting logic.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and reduce manual work.
Required Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
- Experience as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or in a similar role.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, conditional logic, data cleaning, and reconciliation.
- Experience developing reports and dashboards in Tableau.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, analysis, and validation.
- Ability to independently manage stakeholder meetings and reporting projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical findings in clear business language.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and handle unclear requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with data from multiple spreadsheets, databases, and business systems.
- Experience automating reports or improving manual processes.
- Experience working with large, incomplete, or inconsistent datasets.
- Experience in healthcare, finance, operations, revenue cycle, or another data-intensive industry is preferred.
