Job Summary
The Business Intelligence (BI) Manager will lead the development and delivery of data-driven solutions that support decision-making across Clinical Services, Operations, Finance/Accounting, Revenue Cycle, and other departments. This role oversees BI reporting, dashboards, analytics, and data warehouse initiatives, transforming complex healthcare data into actionable insights using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL, and Excel.
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with strong analytical and technical expertise, capable of managing BI teams, partnering with stakeholders to define KPIs and business requirements, and driving operational and financial improvements through data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads a professional team responsible for the design, development and delivery of timely, accurate, comprehensive reports and dashboards. Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
- Responsible for successful delivery of functional and technical components of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting solutions using Tableau and other systems utilized by the Company.
- Operational and Business Objectives: Collaborate with Executive Management, Accounting, Revenue Cycle, Sales, and Operations teams to define and understand operational and business objectives, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals.
- Business Requirements and Metrics: Gather and document business requirements, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to establish benchmarks and evaluate success criteria.
- Financial Planning: Collaborate with Business Unit heads to build their annual budgets and forecasts.
- Business Case Development: Preparing business cases to support new investment, strategic and other business decisions.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze performance data from business, operations, and software systems to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Convert business performance objectives and requirements into clear and actionable reports and presentations.
- Interactive Reporting and Dashboards: Build and test interactive operational reports, analytics, and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Excel, or other suitable software, providing stakeholders with real-time access to relevant data.
- Organization and Standardization of Data: Develop requirements and lead implementation of data warehouse solution to assist with providing meaningful insight.
- Query Development: Execute queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from databases, Excel spreadsheets, and other relevant sources to support reporting and data analysis requirements.
- Performance Improvement: Collaborate with Operational teams to drive performance improvement initiatives based on analytical insights and best practices, identifying areas for optimization, efficiency, and process enhancements.
- Collaboration and Project Management: Work in a highly collaborative manner, engaging with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery of analytical solutions. Leverage project management skills to coordinate tasks, timelines, and resources effectively.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or equivalent education or work experience.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Reporting using Business Intelligence and Analytics software including Tableau, Power BI, Qlik. Tableau preferred.
- Minimum 3 years as a functional manager managing a team of 2-5 individuals.
- Highly proficient with data analysis, analytics, and reporting, with a track record of delivering insights and actionable recommendations.
- Experience in report and dashboard development, data modeling, and data visualization.
- Proficiency in working with SQL databases, including data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Adaptable and flexible to a fast-paced work environment and shifting priorities and responsibilities.
- Leading the design and development of system integration using APIs, FTP, and other integration software.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Proven track record of developing employees.
- Advanced computer software skills including, Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint. ModMed, HST, ADP Workforce Now, Sage Intacct a plus.
- Professional certification: CA, CBA, MBI, CPA, CFA a plus.
