About the Role
We are seeking aSenior Accountantto work on-site at a client location in Oldsmar, FL. This is a 1099 contractor position, requiring 40 hours per week. You will collaborate with our remote team while directly supporting the clients leadership. This role is hands-on and ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with experience inQuickBooks Desktop,GAAP compliance, andinventory/WIP accounting. You will report to the remote CFO Worx Controller and the on-site CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Interaction:Conduct regular meetings with the clients owner to review financial performance and address accounting matters.
- Invoicing:Create and manage detailed invoices for a smaller client base, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Cash Management & Reconciliations:Oversee daily cash flow, perform bank and credit card reconciliations, and maintain accurate records.
- Accounts Payable:Process credit card and ACH payments, manage bill entries, and conduct weekly AP reviews for approval with the clients owner.
- Accounts Receivable:Set up vendors and customers, issue invoices, and follow up with clients through calls and emails to ensure timely collections.
- Inventory Management:Conduct monthly cycle counts of inventory and ensure accurate inventory tracking. Collaborate on work-in-progress (WIP) accounting.
- Journal Entries & Accruals:Prepare journal entries, maintain detailed schedules, and manage accruals as part of the monthly accounting cycle.
- Schedules & Reporting:Create and maintain comprehensive schedules and detailed monthly reporting packages using Microsoft Excel.
- Month-End Close:Complete all tasks related to the month-end close process, ensuring journal entries, schedules, and reconciliations are accurate and finalized on time.
- Payroll Coordination:Work with the clients payroll provider (Heartland) on weekly payroll tasks.
- Management Inquiries:Respond to inquiries from management and provide timely updates on financial and operational matters.
- Team Collaboration:Review deliverables from remote team members, provide corrections, and offer constructive feedback to ensure quality.
Qualifications
- Education:Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience:5+ years of professional accounting experience in roles such as Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop (required).
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and balance sheet management.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
- Specialized Skills:
- Experience with inventory tracking and work-in-progress (WIP) accounting, ideally in manufacturing settings.
- Ability to prepare and maintain detailed schedules for journal entries, accruals, and reporting.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with both on-site and remote teams.
