This is a highly confidential engagement managed by THE CFO HQ to support one of our CFOs on an interim basis.  We are looking for an experienced finance professional to support us with a pivotal project. Located in Manchester, we are seeking an experienced Finance Controller/ Finance Director who will oversee our client's daily finance operations, strategy, reporting, people management, and transformation initiatives during a critical transition period. The Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Interim expert will play a key role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will work closely with our CFO to stabilize and enhance financial processes, contributing to long-term growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function, ensuring effective financial management, planning, and reporting..
  • Oversee financial controls, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management..
  • Oversee monthend operations, and monthly management reporting.
  • Oversee the ongoing audit process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Drive transformation initiatives, optimizing financial systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with Directors and Shareholders to align financial strategy with business objectives.

  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support commercial decision-making.
  • Ensure robust risk management, governance, and financial integrity.
  • Work closely with external auditors, advisors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage finance team to ensure stability and clarity of purpose with all finance initiatives and projects.
  • Create and implement new sales initiatives, methods, and programs in order to increase revenue.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant leadership experience.
  • Strong background in financial management, audit, and transformation
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic and fast evolving business environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within infrastructure, engineering, or related sectors is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels, ensuring financial resilience and operational efficiency
