Classroom Instruction and Practices (CIP) Team: CSF focuses on education system reform using structured pedagogy and continuous academic support as crucial levers for improving student learning outcomes at scale. The Classroom Instruction Practices (CIP) team enables CSFs district and state units to enhance program implementation by improving the adoption of structured pedagogy resources, teacher professional development, and assessment-informed instruction. Project Lead (PL) Foundational Numeracy Design and Implementation at CIP: This is a high-impact role to lead the development and implementation of foundational numeracy interventions, ensuring high-quality instructional materials and teacher support interventions that enhance student learning outcomes and classroom practices. Key responsibilities include:
- Instructional Design & Resource Development
Develop structured pedagogy resources (lesson plans, worksheets, textbooks, workbooks, assessments, teacher guides, etc.) aligned with NIPUN Bharat, NCERT/SCERT frameworks, and global best practices.
Ensure engaging, pedagogically sound content by collaborating with designers, subject-matter experts, and end-users (teachers & students).
- Project Execution & Stakeholder Management
Oversee project planning, from prototyping and pilot testing to large-scale implementation.
Manage internal teams, allocate resources, and resolve bottlenecks.
Engage with SCERT leadership, government partners, and technical experts to ensure contextual relevance and drive academic reforms.
- Field Implementation & Teacher Support
Lead on-the-ground execution, ensuring effective use of instructional materials in classrooms.
Analyse student assessment data, refine strategies, and design support solutions (coaching, micro-training, instructional explainers).
Strengthen CSF field teams through training, joint visits, and knowledge-sharing.
Required Experience and Skills: The ideal candidate brings 6-10 years of experience in mathematics curriculum design and implementation backed by strong project, team and stakeholder management skills.
- 6-10 years experience in early-grade mathematics teaching, structured pedagogy, curriculum design and teacher training at a leading educational organisation
In-depth knowledge of early-grade mathematics pedagogy including learning progressions, conceptual understanding, the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach, procedural fluency, and strategies to address misconceptions.
Structured Pedagogy content design experience in developing curriculum scope and sequences, teacher lesson plans, student workbooks, formative assessments
Classroom implementation and teacher support skill: Experience in demonstrating effective mathematics lessons, observing and coaching teachers, facilitating training sessions, and utilising assessment data to inform instruction
- Strong Project Delivery, Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management ability
Ability to deliver projects within tight resource constraints by setting clear goals, tracking progress, ensuring quality, and resolving challenges.
Experience managing teams of 3-4 members, including recruiting, training, setting expectations, and providing coaching and feedback.
Skill in influencing diverse stakeholdersincluding internal teams, government officials, and technical partnersthrough trust-building advocacy and collaborative problem-solving
English and Hindi proficiency, with the ability to read, write, and present academic content clearly and persuasively to multiple audiences
- Drive to improving learning outcomes and teaching practices at scale within the complexities of the government education system.
Ability to stretch in a highly mission-oriented, action-biased and outcome-focused organisation
Willingness to travel extensively (10-12 days per month) to state capitals and field locations in remote districts
Openness to continuous learning, reflection, feedback and challenge
