Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant with an active X-Ray license to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support clinical operations by assisting with patient care, managing dental procedures, and ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards. Your expertise in dental assisting and radiography will be vital in delivering exceptional patient experiences and maintaining efficient practice workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed.
• Take high-quality X-rays and medical imaging while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards.
• Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including medical documentation and medical coding.
• Perform chairside assisting tasks such as taking vital signs, explaining procedures to patients, and providing post-treatment instructions.
• Support the dental team with administrative duties like scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing patient flow efficiently.
• Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to facilitate clear communication within the team.

Skills

• Valid X-Ray license with experience in taking diagnostic radiographs in a dental setting.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices.
• Experience with dental software like Epic or similar platforms for medical documentation.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry techniques and pediatric-specific protocols.
• Familiarity with advanced imaging tools including 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnostics.
• Excellent chairside assisting skills in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment practicing four-handed dentistry techniques.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dental practice
• High School Diploma or GED required; dental college certification preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience with Diamond Dental, Dentrix, Open Dental, or other dental practice management software
• Current HepB, 8-Hour Infection Control Certification, California X-Ray License, and CPR/BLS certification
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at multiple Ventura County locations
