About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to improve the robustness, reliability, and industrial readiness of an advanced Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) software platform.

This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on ROS1/ROS2, navigation, localization, system reliability, and real-world robot deployments.

What You'll Do

  • Support the migration of the robotics stack from ROS1 to ROS2
  • Improve robustness and stability of deployed AMR systems
  • Troubleshoot navigation, localization, sensor, and system-level issues
  • Debug across ROS1, ROS2, Docker, and Linux
  • Improve recovery strategies, fault handling, testing, and software quality
  • Investigate difficult real-world edge cases and recurring field issues
  • Support customer deployments and production incidents
  • Collaborate with Robotics, QA, Backend, DevOps, and Product teams

Requirements

  • Strong ROS1 and ROS2 experience
  • Proven experience deploying robots in real-world/production environments
  • Strong C++ and Python
  • Experience with navigation, localization, sensors, and robot lifecycle management
  • Strong Linux/Ubuntu troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD, and distributed systems
  • Production debugging and root-cause analysis experience
  • Automated testing and software quality practices
  • Ability to work hands-on across the robotics software stack

Nice to Have

  • AMR, industrial robotics, or fleet management experience
  • VDA 5050, traffic management, or multi-robot systems
  • DDS, Kubernetes, Rust
  • Gazebo/Ignition and simulation validation
  • Safety-related development / IEC 62443
  • Performance profiling
  • Mapping and localization expertise

Important

This is not a research, simulation-only, or pure robotics algorithm role.

We need an engineer with real-world robot deployment experience who can diagnose production problems, improve system robustness, and understand why robots behave the way they do.

The role is approximately 70–80% hands-on engineering.
