Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job Description:
Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical system design for healthcare buildings. This role involves managing projects, ensuring client satisfaction, and coordinating across disciplines. Candidates should have healthcare design experience, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Design & Quality Control: Handle mechanical system calculations, layouts, and designs for projects.
- Code Compliance: Ensure designs follow current codes and best practices.
- Construction Documents: Oversee the creation of documents for new builds, renovations, and expansions.
- Site Support: Conduct site visits, review drawings, and resolve construction issues.
- Cost Efficiency: Implement strategies to improve project cost-effectiveness.
- Mentorship: Guide designers and assist with quality reviews.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Experience: At least 8 years of engineering experience, with a strong focus on mechanical systems and healthcare building design.
- Code Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanical, energy, and FGI codes.
- Preferred Experience: Medical gas system design (optional).
Certifications & Licenses:
- FE Exam: Fundamentals of Engineering certification (required).
- PE License: Professional Engineering license (preferred but not required).
- Drivers License: Valid drivers license and access to an insured vehicle for work purposes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Trane Trace, and Revit.
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work permanently without sponsorship.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong ability to execute tasks with precision and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organization: Skilled in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a team environment.
